Our Team
The diversity of background, education and other interests of the members of the Firm combine to create a rich pool of knowledge, which is ever at the disposal of our clients. Members of the Firm have worked in various environments and on various assignments at different points in time. The firm was initially founded by four Partners, however, two of the initial four partners, being Ms. Sharon Annan and Ms. Frieda Aniwaah Boateng, have left to pursue other interests. The firm currently comprises of two Senior Partners, one Partner, one Associate and other expert Associates who collaborate with the firm from time to time on a variety of cases. Gaspar Lyle Nii-Aponsah
Gaspar is a co-founder of Lex Premier Associates. He was educated at the prestigious Achimota School in Accra, the University of Ghana and the Ghana School of Law. Gaspar has had a varied working life in various sectors of the economy including manufacturing, ICT and the legal industry. Several years before he co-founded Lex Premier Associates, he was the Personnel Manager at African Industries Ltd, a fishing gear manufacturing company located in Tema. From there, he had a year’s stint at the global internet and search engine giant, Google, working on its African Business Online team. From there he returned to his natural calling, the law, and proceeded to work at various levels with several top law firms in Ghana. His extensive background in the law, spanning some fourteen years collectively, began with Gamashi Chambers, a leading land, property and civil litigation law firm which was established by his father, the late acclaimed Barrister, jurist and author, D.A. Nii-Aponsah. He also had working stints at Leo Chambers, founded by a former Attorney-General of the Republic of Ghana, J. Ayikoi Otoo, and also at Amarteifio & Co., another leading law firm in Ghana, where he had the privilege to study at the feet of yet another famed lawyer and distinguished diplomat, Amarkai Amarteifio.
After completing Achimota School, Gaspar obtained a degree in Political Science and History from the University of Ghana. Thereafter, in 2010, he proceeded again to the University of Ghana where he obtained an additional degree in law. He was subsequently admitted to the Ghana School of Law to pursue the Professional Qualifying Certificate in Law, which he successfully completed. He is a Solicitor and Barrister of the Superior Courts of Ghana and in his practice has appeared before both the lower courts and the Superior Courts of Judicature. Gaspar is the Managing Partner and Lead Consultant of our firm with interests in company advisory services, civil litigation, criminal defence, insurance claims and defence, Industrial Law, Probate and Estate Administration which comprises of Wills and Intestacy, as well as Taxation, Tax Administration and Pension Trusteeship. He has provided legal advisory services concerning mergers and acquisitions (M&As) in particular and corporate structuring and advisory in general. He has represented the interests of several companies in corporate Ghana, advising on various transactions in Ghana, China, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey and Russia. He has also had occasion to represent individuals charged with various crimes, including indigent clients and has advised NGOs and real estate companies on trade, labour practices and the restructuring of organisations for management efficient purposes. He is a member of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) and currently serves as the Managing Partner at Lex Premier Associates.
Elorm Ahiati
Elorm is one of four co-founders of Lex Premier Associates. She attended St. Roses High School, one of the foremost female secondary schools in Ghana and is an alumnus of the University of Ghana and the Ghana School of Law. Elorm is a qualified Solicitor and Barrister of the Superior Courts of Ghana. She obtained her first degree in Sociology and Information Studies from the University of Ghana in 2008. Following the completion of her National Service duties at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, she applied for and was subsequently admitted to the Faculty of Law of the University of Ghana to study for her second degree, the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. Elorm successfully passed out in 2011 and from there, proceeded to the Ghana School of Law where she successfully obtained the professional Qualifying Certificate in Law. She has practiced law both in the corporate world and before the Superior Courts of Judicature. She is an excellent Attorney who has advised on the legal and institutional framework regulating business and investment in Ghana.
Elorm possesses a strong passion for business growth and the adoption of such systems and legal frameworks that aid businesses to function at their optimum level. She has worked extensively both in the corporate world and in private practice. Elorm worked as an intern in the law firm, Puozuing & Associates and in the Attorney-General’s Department of the Republic of Ghana at the beginning of her legal career, where she acquired valuable experience working on both civil and criminal cases. Following that, she worked as a Legal Officer in Ghana’s biggest re-insurance company, Ghana Re-Insurance Company Ltd. From there, she worked in the Legal Department at the National Investment Bank and left after nearly three years to work full time for the firm.
In practice, Elorm has professional interests in Corporate and Commercial law, particularly Mergers and Acquisitions as well as Insurance law. She has demonstrated excellence in the conduct of thorough due diligence for her clients. More recently, her exceptional analytical skills have been brought to bear upon the firm’s growing transactional advisory practice. She has advised on multiple transactions including recently representing one of the firm’s clients that was shortlisted as a finalist in the Government of Ghana’s Tender to find a suitable concessionaire for the Tema Shipyard. She is an avid reader and a formidable legal research resource. Elorm is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
Howard Albert Quaye
Howard Albert Quaye is a Partner at Lex Premier Associates and brings on board his expertise in Commercial Law, Intellectual Property, Taxation and Data/Privacy Protection Law.
Howard began his senior level education at Achimota School in Ghana and thereafter proceeded to Holborn College, London, where he gained a foundation in Law Diploma. He holds a law degree from the University of Wales, UK, and has also been called to the Ghana Bar after successfully completing the Legal Practice Course at the Ghana School of Law.
Earlier in his legal career, Howard interned at Oasis Law Consult and Patawutuo Chambers, the law offices of his father, Kwadwo Affram Asiedu, a lawyer and former Minister in the Government of President J.A. Kufuor. Prior to joining Lex Premier Associates, Howard was an Attorney at Minkah Premo and Co. in their Commercial Law and Intellectual Property department, where he worked together with a team of lawyers on several commercial and intellectual property matters. Thereafter Howard obtained an appointment to consult for the IT Security Management Company, Ordina, situated in Belgium, where he remained for nearly two years working primarily in the emerging field of Privacy and Data Protection law. Howard is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/Europe) and Data Protection consultant.
Since his return to work full time in Ghana, he has been a key player in our firm’s efforts to grow and maintain an international network of clients and expert professionals in our practice areas. He has had opportunity to provide legal advisory on behalf of our clients seeking to establish international partnerships and make international acquisitions. His experience and expertise in the new frontiers of legal practice is an addition to our firm’s increasing value and prestige. He periodically lectures at the Banker’s College as a visiting lecturer on various subjects including the legal aspects of collateral agreements and the incidence of registration of charges, amongst others. Howard is a committed legal professional and in his spare time, is an active sportsman in multiple disciplines. Howard is a member of the Ghana Bar Association.
Kwadwo Wiafe-Annor Jnr.
Kwadwo is an Associate at Lex Premier Associates, a full-service law firm offering a wide range of legal services including Corporate and Commercial, Insurance, and Energy. He is a corporate lawyer with experience in cross-border transactions, construction, and energy law. He has advised clients both local and abroad on regulatory and compliance requirements in Ghana and reviewed and drafted complex high-value transactions. He has also assisted many companies abroad establish a presence in Ghana effectively and efficiently. He also has a keen interest in estate law and assists in teaching the law of Equity and Succession at Zenith University College.
He is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Ghana, licensed to represent clients in all Courts in Ghana. He received his senior high school education at Achimota School and proceeded to read Political Science at the University of Ghana, Legon, where he graduated with Honours. He then proceeded to study law at the Faculty of Law, University of Ghana, where he also Graduated with Honours. He received his Qualifying Certificate in Law after he completed his two-year professional law course at the Ghana School of Law.
Kwadwo has hands-on professional experience in various fields of law, and a successful record of accomplishments in the Energy and Finance sectors. He also has an in-depth understanding and experience in banking and finance law having worked at the legal department of the National Investment Bank. He is a detail-oriented professional with excellent communication skills, team building, and leadership experience.
